World War 1 Treasures

Lt Thomas Gerald George Fahey

Lieutenant Thomas Gerald George Fahey, Australian Light Horse, World War 1

Treasures of World War 1

Cultural Collections in the University of Newcastle’s Auchmuty Library holds some wonderful photographs from the First World War,  and has been permitted to host some other photos, such as that shown above, by Tom Robinson, one of our amazing volunteers and grandson of Lt Fahey who served in the Light Horse in the Middle East during World War 1.

You can see Lt Fahey’s photos on our Flickr site.

After you have browsed those treasures, you might care to visit the photos taken by or of Will Dalton, a local man who served in the artillery on the Western Front as well as those of Major (later Colonel) Brent B. Rodd who was wounded at Villers Bretonneux.

Please see below a listing of our other WW1 treasures.
