Broadcast Notes:
The postcards were donated to the University of Newcastle in August 2011. The story relating to the postcards was published in the Newcastle Herald in a story by Mike Scanlon Keeping track of big events (H2 30th July 2011 p.8)
On the reverse side of the postcards are messages from Edie Kelly (Dungog); daughter of the photographer George Kelly to Miss Gertie Alder (Hamilton).
Originally in possession of Mr Brian Alder, and given to Mr Ian Clucas, and deposited by him with the University of Newcastle’s Archives on the 15th August 2011.
This Collection was digitised by volunteer Tom Robinson, who also transcribed the letters and arranged the dated letters in chronological order. Prepared and uploaded to Flickr by Gionni Di Gravio Archivist in August 2012.
