  1. I too have found this all to be most interesting being Pauline Black’s eldest son ; grandson to William (“Bill”) Galloway and therefore great grandson to Alec Galloway whom I never knew since he died 4 years before I was born! I did know his wife Amelia (“Ame”) however as my great grandmother back when I was 11 or 12 in the early 1960’s.

  3. This has altogether been a superb presentation and tribute to my grandfather Alexander Galloway. Dare I hope that somehow his Song of Newcastle might be significantly acknowledged during the Celebrations in 2009. It is quite unique.

  4. I am looking for an article in Newcastle Herald Saturday April 26th 1956
entitled “In glorious memory of our larrikin great great granny”
Will you assist me in my search and direct me to website ?
    Thanking you in anticipation.

  5. It is with much sadness I a need to say Mrs Chic Cooper mentioned in part of this story passed away on the 22nd of August 2015. So much history will be lost along with her passing.
