Legend, History and Perception – The Holy Lance
Dr Edward Bridle
Dr Bridle will look at the several relics which have been supposed to be the Spear of the Crucifixion, the most famous of which is that now in Vienna. He will attempt to separate legend from history, and look at the ways in which perceptions of the relics have changed as their roles in history have changed.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
